How to understand the TRUE history of Christmas
Step1Look into the Bible for texts explaining events on and around Jesus' birth. (EX.) Luke 2:1-8. We find nowhere is the date Dec. 25th ever mentioned in the Bible. Furthermore it is mentioned within those texts that Jesus was born during the same time that, "...country shepherds living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over thier flocks." Therefore it's impossible Jesus was even born in the Winter since shepherds in those times would not stay outside with thier pastures during that cold and rainy season.
Step2The New Catholic Encyclopedia says,“Inexplicable though it seems, the date of Christ’s birth is not known. The Gospels indicate neither the day nor the month.”—New Catholic Encyclopedia.
Step3So Where did Christmas come from if it doesn't originate with the Bible and christian beliefs originally? Well, it originated with the Roman Pagan Diety The Sun God(Saturnalia)and since in those early times many were falling away from christianity to enjoy the festivities of this celebration The Church heads decided to merge this pagan celebration with christianity to bring people back. Notice the information in step four.
Step4In an effort to gain pagan converts the Roman Catholic clergy in the fourth century after Christ, took in this pagan Saturnalia on December 25 and sponsored it as the “mass of Christ” or “Christ-mass.” Christmas, therefore, is nothing more than a carbon copy of the pagan Saturnalia. This is generally admitted by historical and religious scholars. Says a world history, On the Road to Civilization, page 164: “The feast of Saturn, the Saturnalia, was a winter festival which lasted a week beginning on the twenty-fifth day of December, and was celebrated with dancing, the exchanging of gifts, and the burning of candles. The Saturnalia was later taken over by the Christians as their Christmas, and given a new significance.”
Step5Today we see this pagan holiday sadly sponsors even parents to lie to thier children about existence of "Santa Claus" and children have become more selfish... expecting to be given what they want nomatter the burden it may put on parents... also people begrudgingly give faceiously to whom they don't even prefer in a regular atmosphere. So it also fostors superficial actions.
Step6Now We if we are to be true christians must make our decision based on The Bible and true knowledge not soley on tradition which may lead us astray. Difficult though it may be.... this is the truth! Thakyou for reading and I encourage you to do your own personal research also. Sincerely
